Getting Started

-
Start thinking about your pictures and videos at least several months before your event! Waiting until the last minute to cull your pictures and videos can be stressful! Montages by Michelle would like to receive your digital files a minimum of 8 weeks from the date of your event. Rush montages are available but may incur an extra fee.
-
Decide how you want to organize your montage. Do you want to tell a purely chronological story? Or do you prefer different story sections such as Growing Up, Family, Vacations, Sports, etc.? These story sections can be told chronologically or randomly. It's really up to you and your style! Both options look great on screen!
-
Pick your favorite pictures that are meaningful to you! Pictures in different locations, of memorable activities, or with special people are perfect. Make sure to pick just enough to tell your story. Avoid too many pictures of the same age, location, activity or people. In addition, try to avoid shots that are out of focus, blurry, very light or very dark, or poorly cropped. Keep in mind that pictures of people's eyes and faces are visually appealing to your audience! Remember your guest list. Everyone loves to see themselves in the montage if possible!
-
Find short (10-60 seconds) video clips to add during your montage! Adding video clips to your montage blends the action of video with your still photos and is a sure way to grab your audiences' attention. Montages by Michelle can work with most video file formats.
-
Choose music that you love for your montage soundtrack! The lyrics of your songs can match the theme of your pictures or stand purely on their own. Slow songs, upbeat songs ... it's really up to you! Montages by Michelle can work with most audio file formats as long as they are not "protected".
-
Montages by Michelle will include your logo artwork as the introduction to your montage if you have one. Montages by Michelle can work with most image file formats.
